"The Best of The Web"

This blog was created to help find resources for future students interested and possibly researching The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I have created this "the best of the web" with numerous websites and sources to help in your pursuit of reliable resources and study tools.

SparkNotes.com

The Great Gatsby

Cornell University Professor

A great resource for students who want to get a better understanding of the novel through the lens of a professor at a university. This can be extremely helpful to students researching the book as they get access to an essay contrasting the virtues of the novel and getting insight on the historical context of the story and connections to current relevant issues.
It is also important to note where all your sources come from, this one comes from a more credible source, a University and a professor.

thegreatgatsbysandm.blogspot.com

This is another blog that can be used as a resource to anyone studying the novel. The author focuses on the symbols that are present in the book and elaborates on them explaining their significance and value also giving you insight on the historical context of it and relevance. This is a great tool when wanting to get a better understanding through other lenses and videos.

Wikipedia.com

A website many teachers have said not to use, and though it may not be completely accurate and should not be used as the main resource in an essay paper Wikipedia is still a great source when you're beginning to look at the book and want a basic background comprehension about the book. The website is not perfect but it is getting better and before writing an essay with this site it is always important to double check your information with other more credible sites.

SparkNotes.com

A resource you are probably already familiar with, Spark notes and Shmoop are both great websites that are available to you to help you get a better understanding about the book chapter by chapter and can help clear things up with their character lists and more. Though they are great resources they cannot replace reading the book itself .
On Spark notes you will also be able to find a video about the book that goes through major events and could help you better understand the book getting the main ideas.

Film (2013)

A more recent source for helping you understand the book a bit more clearly and is a bit more fun as you get to see the characters in Fitzgerald's book come to life in the movie that was released in 2013. It is a good film though it got poor reviews. I strongly suggest reading the book first prior to watching the film, it's a good movie (at least in my opinion) but it does not beat the book and should not be seen as a better study tool than the other resources.
